Pirates Snatch Hat Island as Raiders Empty Cayo Romano
Hat Island has changed hands with the suddenness this Gazette has come to expect of the Caribbean's fickle fortunes: Pirates' GRMLN has torn the port from France's ONU, the very battle promised in yesterday's dispatch delivering its verdict overnight. The NPC Raiders, ever indifferent to flags, have meanwhile stripped Cayo Romano from HEART's pirate ledger and left it a neutral shell, echoing their earlier work at Champoton and Pedro Cay. The guns are far from cold, however — Pirates' PEARL calls France's NSCN to account at Barahona this very afternoon at 12:19 UTC, while the Raiders themselves stir again at Great River against ORANJ's holding at 15:03 UTC and at Casigua against CFS's Spanish garrison come 19:56 UTC. A further pair of raids loom tomorrow, with PANDA's Basseterre Town and TVM's Key West both marked for the marauders' attention.
The treasury table shows only gentle shuffling behind an unbudging summit: CFS holds first place for an eighteenth consecutive day, its twenty-seven ports unchanged since yesterday's reckoning. KP eases up one rank to fifth on steady footing, trading places with HEART, which slips to sixth after Cayo Romano's loss trimmed its ledger to nine ports. Further down, GRMLN's seizure of Hat Island carries it two places up the board to fourteenth, its fifth port earning fresh respect, while ONU pays the corresponding price, sliding two ranks to sixteenth as its holdings shrink to four.
